Fall Leaf Color - Persimmon

By Paul Wonning Diospyros virginiana Family - Benicia - Ebony The Persimmon leaf turns a golden yellow in autumn, but usually does not stay on the tree very long after turning. It is a small tree, appearing throughout the southern states, mostly east of the Mississippi River. It appears as far west as eastern Texas, north as far as southern Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. The Persimmons main claim to fame is the small fruit it bears in the fall. It ripens after the first frosts. When ripe, it is sweet with a taste somewhat like a cross between a sweet potato and pumpkin. Numerous country recipes are made from this fruit, including persimmon pudding, a true delicacy. The fruit must be mushy when eaten. If eaten before it ripens, it is guaranteed to pucker the taster up real good. You will not ever have tasted anything so sour as an unripe persimmon. The leaf is smooth, oval, pointed at the top. The bark is deeply furrowed and very dark. The tree grows to around sixty feet tall. Sometimes it is more shrubby than treelike. It is biggest in the Mississippi River Valley. It will usually be found growing with sycamore, red and sugar maples, red cedar, yellow poplar, hickory and many types of oaks. The persimmon is a valuable tree to have in the woodland. The fruit is eaten by a great variety of wildlife, including white tailed deer, raccoons, opossums, foxes, some birds and many different types of rodents. It also provides a tasty treat for people, if they can wait for the fruit to ripen properly. 2006 Paul Wonning is the owner of Gardens and Nature.com a web site about gardening, hiking and other nature related topics. Planning Your Wedding Honeymoon

By Jen Carter Not sure where to begin when planning for your honeymoon? When wedding planning, you should start discussing ideas with your spouse-to-be. Will you travel domestically or internationally? What type of honeymoon do you desire? Will it be part of a destination wedding? If youre thinking along the lines of exotic beaches and ethnic foods, you most likely will want to plan to travel abroad. If youre looking for a quaint, quiet, lazy, get-away you may opt to plan for a scenic bed & breakfast overlooking the mountains somewhere domestically. Regardless of where you decide to go, the following tips will help you get there safe and unscathed from mental anguish: 1. Use the services of a travel agent. Their expertise and knowledge of packages and deals will help you save an ample amount of money as well as time. 2. Start planning your trip early. This will give you sufficient time to research your trip and find the exact accommodations that you want. Some places reserve up to a year in advance for popular seasons and resorts! 3. Before you book your trip, decide where youre willing to splurge and what things youre willing to skip out on. This will assist you in your planning and budgeting. 4. Take advantage of any agency thats willing to provide free information; whether it be a website or toll-free number. Nevertheless, beware of agencies that offer promises that sound too good to be true. They most likely are. 5. Make arrangements in your maiden name if you havent had time to change all of your legal documentation with your new married name. This can be especially frustrating if youre travelling abroad and the name on your passport and birth certificate do not coincide with your travel ticket. Its better to play it safe and make sure that your name matches on every document you have until you return from your travels. 6. Expect the unexpected. You can have a plan and a budget written, that doesnt always mean that everything will go according to plan. Carry a sense of humor and good spirits. Youll have to remain cool and collected. After all, this is your once in a lifetime honeymoon. Why let the small stuff get to you? 7. Bask in all of your glory! Let everyone know that youre on your honeymoon! Youll most likely receive complimentary champagne, mints, candies, or a even gift basket in your room. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain! Organic Options For Fertilising Your Vegetable Garden

By Eric J Smith I have often been asked what is the best organic fertiliser to add to the soil of a vegetable garden. Its not the sort of question that has an easy answer, but its not a complicated solution either. There is really no exact answer to a best product when it comes to organic nutrients. Organic gardening is more about a system of gardening - Crop rotation, mulching, composting, vermicast, and companion planting all form a part of an Organic Gardening System. The best place to start is to create 2 or 3 compost heaps in your backyard. Whether you use a Compost Bin, Tumbler, Stack or Compost bays the end result will still be the same - A nutrient rich soil conditioner and mulch ready to add to your vegetable garden. You should always ensure your compost heap receives sufficient heat in order to destroy seeds that may be present from lawn clippings and weeds. Suitable ingredients for your compost heap includes old hay or straw, vegetable scraps, shredded paper, lawn clippings & animal manure. Avoid things like Orange peel, onion skins and meat scraps. If you live in a unit or have a small backyard, you might have vegetables growing in pots. An ideal way to make compost in these situations is with a small worm farm. The worms create enough compost (called vermicast) to feed your potted vegetables throughout the year. All your household scraps and waste paper can be added to the worm farm. This is an ideal start for creating an Organic Garden System. Eric J. Smith is an Organic Gardener and passionate Environmentalist. Sacred Love - Living on Purpose in a Relationship is the Key to Long Term Love

By Christopher Walker “Give me a few hours by myself, let me alone, shut out all interruptions, and I can bring myself down to my work. I take my pen in hand. I write a few thoughts. I see the future. And realise my responsibility. The more I think of the duty placed on me, the graver since my responsibility. Every idea has weight. I can see the effect of days ahead.” Life Purpose We speak of life purpose. Actually there is nothing on earth that is not on your purpose. Your ultimate purpose is to learn love and everything you do will teach you that. Whether you are in hospital, permanently different, being challenged. You are on purpose if you can learn to love more from life. Develop an inward belief in the sacredness of the whole And that man can be in tune with this sacredness. That there is a universe of love, and our ego is yet to see it Is the journey we are on, with purpose. Place your mind on truthfulness and use purification to remove the “dust” which conceals our inherently divine nature and thus receive the blessings. Your spirit is a holy power living in the real world. All living things possess the Divine This is being inspired Observe all taboos avoid things that cause toxin and pollution. Make your prayers and offerings to the temples of your life Worship the Gods and Goddesses, in which you place your faith. The sacred fire is the symbol that fights evil, It is the great purifier and sustainer, It is the nature of the sun itself. So keep a flame burning in your heart. To live your life purpose, you will rise to a point where there is nothing to change in the world. You are no longer polarised by the idea of right and wrong, and instead see that every action, no matter whether it is good or bad, results in a pro and a con. You will act because you love it. You might help the poor, not because it is right, but because you love doing that. You might make love to your partner, not because this is some obligation or because it is right or wrong, but because this is what you love to do. Love replaces right and wrong. There is a sense of completion, you are fulfilled, and no longer need to change anyone or yourself. Then you simply go about your life, giving and loving people, because you find great joy in it. There is no need to tell anyone what you do, because the ego is not important. Now, the reason that you are in relationship is because your lover is a part of your purpose in life. It is not a right relationship, or a wrong relationship, it is both right and wrong, with food for your growth. You are together because from this home you can build the work you love, the gift you love to give. Your life purpose cannot be lived in a righteous home, or a home where your partner is out of phase with you. Your partner cannot be twenty years behind, worrying about their second level or themselves. Their priorities have to match yours. This only means love. They and you must prioritise love over all the other values. This means resource sharing, working to support and challenge each other. Working on projects together, bringing your unique purposes to one place, sharing your gifts, being in love in your relationship and your work, for your souls. This is consciousness of purpose. Not right, not good, not better, not about wealth, not about appearances, not about self. Right and wrong, good and bad. For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, this is the real marriage of souls, a purpose of love, beyond the self gratification of the ego, a love that binds us, forever, all the days of our lives, together or apart. To have a sacred relationship, youll need to reveal a higher purpose for your relationship. A purpose greater than your individual happiness. Find a reason to live and work together, more than just happiness, and you will begin to extend the honeymood already. The longer the time frame of your dreams and purpose, the more sustainable will be your love. The more you can feel that your relationship is instrumental in helping you live your purpose in life, the greater your sense of devotion to it. If you are not on purpose, you are working on lower priorities, and will develop resentment toward the relationship and your loved one. If your relationship begins to focus on lower priorities (things not connected to your dreams and purpose), then the more you will attract calamities, disasters and humbling circumstances. Once you both have a sense of your life purpose, then all secondary decisions and choices are more effectively made. Youll know where to live, how to bring up children, what is possible from a time perspective, and on the negative side, what would destroy your love. If a person is not working on purpose, then they will be extremely discontent. All your decisions and choices stem from this primary life purpose. So, in your relationship with purpose, there is a solid foundation for making positive choices for the future. If you know your lovers life purpose you can understand them, support them and merge your destiny with them. If your life purpose is based on doing what you love, it follows that all other choices that flow from this will also be based on your love. Without this clarity, couples begin to push and pull, struggling with who is important or confused, between short term outcomes and long term ones. Uncertainty and emotion result. No matter what life choices you both make, they all have a balance of pros and cons. So why not make choices which bring the most fulfillment. If there is no clarity, then all choices are emotional, to feed the ego, and this kills passion and love. Your life purpose is the centre around which your sacred relationship can function. You can compromise everything else, as long as your sense of purpose is solid. Your relationship will thrive if you are both on purpose. Perceptions of being on purpose leads to actions, which lead to rewards. Purpose leads to procedures, leads to results. Our compulsory educational system, which requires almost a third of a lifetime in pursuit of learning, produces little or no originality, teaches nothing of the fundamental purpose of human existence, and ignores entirely the most basic aspect of being, the Soul. We have built up an intellectual civilisation and have entirely neglected the powers of the Soul. The intellect unguided by Cosmic law or love is shrewd, cruel and divergent in its results and humankind is becoming lost in the products of such efforts. We must now arise above that which we have put together and learn to control it. There is no purpose in increasing the size, comfort, speed and material beauty of civilisation if we do not have the vision and character to use them to advantage. This can be only be done by bringing ourselves into consciousness of the Cosmic pattern of life achieved through universal law and a sense of our purpose within it. There can never be enough of anything to make the ego happy. No amount of physical lovemaking makes the ego happy for more than a week. No amount of self righteousness and moral chest beating can make us feel that we are lovable, no amount of romance can make us say, That is enough, I am satisfied, and no amount of material wealth can make us say Goodness, thats enough, I think I will work for free. No the ego is an animal of instinct, but it can never sustain happiness. Having a purpose each means there is a big commitment. A devotion to each other. Then you can continually work on ensuring that your ego does not get priority over love in your relationship. Know your purpose, bring this to your relationship, and pin it to the wall. Forget the wedding certificate, the real contract of love is to help your lover live on purpose. If you achieve this, they will never leave. Your life purpose is an egoless aspiration. One that can never be achieved. It is a devotion, a commitment, a higher reason for your life. Your commitment and devotion to your purpose can change, but your purpose cannot. . When this happens your relationships struggle. Devotion to a purpose greater than yourself is a wonderful reason to be in a relationship. You cannot give what you havent got, so growing in love in a relationship can support your purpose. On the other hand, a negative home, one where emotional laundry is washed in the space of your relationship, can distract purpose. To be inspired in life requires a special devotion. The average relationship can thrive on emotional drama and noisy abuse. But this is not the mark of love, nor will it create a home for inspired living. So, to live on purpose, and be inspired, your relationship, your home, your process, will need to be refined. To find your life purpose, you will need to find your deepest motive in your life. Here are some questions that may help: 1/ What was missing when I was a child 0-3 years old? 2/ What have I been searching for all my life? 3/ What would I love to do all day every day and be paid extremely well for doing it? 4/ If there was one thing I would love to share before I die, one piece of advice I would love to leave as my testimonial, what would it be, and to whom would I give it? 5/ If I was stripped of all my worldly possessions, humiliated in from of everyone I know, what would be the one thing that they couldnt take from me? What would I know? 6/ List your heart driven love list, for each of the seven areas of life. List who you would love to be do have in the seven areas of life. The professor from Harvard was on holiday in Mexico, he stood at his hotel window looking out over the ocean and each day he noticed a fisherman, That fisherman left the shored in his little boat each morning at 5.00am and returned at 7.00am. He unloaded his fish, took a breakfast and was finished his days work by 10.00am. Then he sat beneath the coconut tree and enjoyed the rest of the day in bliss. The Harvard professor approached the fisherman and suggested that with three boats he could employ others and make more money. The fisherman borrowed money and eventually had three boats going out each day. Then the professor suggested that with a fleet of boats the fisherman would really be well off, in fact they could list on the stock exchange. They did so, and the professor then suggested that if they can raise their share price, the fisherman would be rich enough to go down to Mexico, find himself a little boat, he could go out every morning at any time he chose and come back, have his breakfast and then sit under a coconut tree for the rest of the day in bliss. Effective Make-up and Beauty Tips and Products: Do’s and Dont’s, Avoid These Most Common Mistakes!

By Jasdeep Singh With the amount of importance given to make-up these days, many women just tend to do a bit too much. Getting the right make-up for the particular occasion is the call of the entire womanhood. But beauty shouldn’t be misinterpreted as just by carrying a beautiful face. A overall healthy body reflects eternal beauty which one should be longing for. The idea is to look younger and FEEL YOUNGER. Here are some precious makeup Do’s and Dont’s which one should know very well before applying make-up. * Find the formula that meets your skin’s needs and your lifestyle. Though, it isn’t that hard also to get it right. Generally, we apply make-up in a hurry and we tend to ignore this vital part. * Women generally don’t wash their brushes as they are always busy applying their makeup.(Hey, Nothing against women :-), relax!). Brushes should be washed properly and allowed to be dried naturally. * Special care should be taken, while applying and even after applying lipstick. Don’t stain your teeth with lipstick. It really looks gross! * Never use your mascara more than twice. It will definitely look clogged. * Last but not the least, don’t forget to take off all the make-up from your face once you go to bed specially from and near your eyes. What Did God Really Say?

By Charles King Satan asked Eve in the Garden of Eden Did God really say not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil? Eve either did not know what God had said or she did not believe God. In either case Satan accomplished his goal to kill, steal, and destroy. Satans game plan is still the same today. He is still asking the question, Did God really say? It is amazing the answers one gets when a question is asked about a specific Bible verse. Here are some common responses that you hear from many who profess to be Christians, included many well know preachers. 1) The Old Testament was only written for the Jews and does not apply to the Christian. 2) The Law no longer applies to the Christian they are under grace. 3) The Bible in the original manuscript contains no errors, which implies that our current manuscripts contain errors and they are the only ones capable of determining which is error, which is not. For example the group who call themselves the Jesus Seminar imply that the Bible does not portray the true Jesus, but they are so intelligent that can read documents from the period of Jesus and determine the true Jesus. Common sense tells you that if you were to read material of our day it would not project a true picture of those who truly believe in Jesus, but would portray a secular faith of those who have both feet in the world. Before I attended Bible College and seminary, I had been a Christian for twenty-five years and had earned degrees in physics, mathematics, and computer science. All of these fields are a pure science and have very ridged rules that apply. However, when I started my study in theology, I was surprised at how much of theology, the study of God and His Word, was subjective instead of objective. How could it be that the creator of science, would allow the most important science, the study of Himself, to be that way? After much study of the Bible and different interpretations of man, I have come to the conclusion that the question Satan asked Eve is the issue, Did God really say? To answer this question we must address the issue from Gods primary revelation, the Bible. The first verse says In the beginning God . Hebrews 11:6 says, So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him (nlt). We must first believe there is a God. The Bible goes on to say in Romans 10:17, Yet faith comes from listening to this message of good news-the Good News about Christ(nlt). So first we must settle the issue of is there a God and has He revealed Himself as stated in Hebrews 1:1-3; Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. But now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he made the universe and everything in it. The Son reflects God’s own glory, and everything about him represents God exactly. He sustains the universe by the mighty power of his command. After he died to cleanse us from the stain of sin, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God of heaven(nlt). The first step understanding the truth is a firm belief (faith) that God is and that He rewards those who seek Him through Christ. The second step understanding is seeking God through Christ. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father accept by me (John 14:16). From this though drives the hermeneutic of interpreting the Bible through the lens of Jesus and Him crucified. Hermeneutics are rules of Bible interpretation. Interpreting the Bible through the theological lens of Jesus and Him crucified can be found in Luke chapter 24 when Jesus tells the two on the road to Emmaus that they should have known about the crucifixion because Moses and the Prophets (Old Testament) had explained it. In the physical sciences you have rules that have been established by observation then proven by application such as gravity. The same can hold true for the science of theology. Just as it was observed that an object fell when dropped led to the proof that this was consistent and that rules of gravity could be applied consistently. Yet, Theologians are slow to apply the same process to the study of God and His Word. Satan is still casting confusion did God really say? and if He did say something specific, then just what did He mean by that statement? Many Bible teachers today are more driven by their church doctrines or by subjective theories of man in their Biblical interpretation process instead of by the objective word of God. For example I have listed below a number of our current schools of theology which have developed rules of Bible interpretation, many of which I believe to be more subjective than objective. I must omit I am heavily biased toward Biblical, Covenant, and Systematic theology over the others because I truly believe each of these are more objectively devised from the application of Scripture, than mans opinion of Scripture (subjective). Below is a list of some of the major schools of theology and my ranking of objectivity versus subjectivity. 1) Systematic Theology heavy objectivity (Word of God) weakness Scripture out of context 2) Biblical Theology heavy objectivity (Word of God) must understand the whole of Scripture interpretation based on the unity of Gods Word 3) Covenant Theology heavy objectivity (Word of God) focuses upon Gods covenant relationship with man must understand His covenant revelations The following four schools of theology, if you could say they are truly schools of theology are in my opinion heavily subjective and are more centered on a specific mans opinion of Gods Word instead of the Word of God itself. 4) Calvinism Developed from five basic doctrines that drive the Biblical interpretation. It is known by the acronym TULIP. Much information is available on the Web about Calvinism and TULIP (in the 1500s AD) 5) Arminianism James Arminius who lived after John Calvin and developed a five-point theology to counter the five points of the Calvinist. (in the 1600s AD) 6) Wesleyan-ism John Wesley developed a theology that is very similar to Arminianism, which led to the formation of the Methodist church. (in the 1700s) 7) Dispensationalism teaches biblical history as a number of successive economies or administrations, called dispensations, each of which emphasizes that God deals with the people of that dispensation differently than with other dispensatioions. (Darby in the1800s ) In fact that ending (ism) should be a clue to their subjectivity. Most people that focus on these more subjective theologies tend to read Scripture through lens that are shaded by their theology (very subjective). As was mentioned earlier, hermenutics define the rules of Biblical interpertation (exegisis). Ones hermenutics are heavely influnced by their school of theology. I would like to address two current hermenutics (a) HISTORICAL / GRAMMATICAL (b) HISTORICAL / GRAMMATICAL /THEOLOGICAL. HISTORICAL / GRAMMATICAL This method relies on the grammatical structure, immediate context and knowledge of the historical setting. Again like the common sense approach to the law of gravity, no one is alive today that understands the grammatical and common understanding to word meanings of that day. For example the word mouse today means an animal and also the computer device; the word gay means to be happy or a homosexual. Image some of the difficulties of interpreting some of our current written material based our upon word understanding two thousand years in the future. Who today truly understands the historical events of Biblical history, in many cases we dont even know for certain the year with-in a hundred years of the event or even the location, or identity of the writer. HISTORICAL / GRAMMATICAL /THEOLOGICAL by adding the theological element to Bible interpretation you add in a variable that from a common sense perspective gives you a higher probability of correct interpretation and that is interpret Scripture in regard to Scripture. I would like to suggest two common sense elements of using theological interpretation. 1) Make sure you interpretation agrees with the most common meaning. That is if Scripture uses one meaning 100 times and another meaning 1 time, the most likely meaning would be the one used 100 times. 2) Let the simplest verses be a key factor in interpreting the more complicated. As indicated by my comments I believe that you approach theology like you would other God created sciences such a physics and mathematics. You establish rules that can be proven and you build a theology block by block. For example Joshua 1:8 gives mankind the formula for success; Study this Book of the Law continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be sure to obey all that is written in it. Only then will you succeed (nlt). Approximately 500 years later the man to whom God grants wisdom, Solomon states there is nothing new under the sun and all is vanity except; Here is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is the duty of every person. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad: (Ecc 12:13-14). Then a thousand years after Solomon Jesus makes a similar statement when He states, “Not all people who sound religious are really godly. They may refer to me as `Lord,’ but they still won’t enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The decisive issue is whether they obey my Father in heaven. ( MT 7:21 nlt) There seems to be a common thread in all of these three references and that is obedience to Gods Word brings blessings, and disobedience brings curses. Let us Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ( 2Tim 2:15 kjv) Pastor Charlie is a pastor of a local church and has formed an Internet Ministry called Four Soils Ministry that offers Bible Studies (individual & small groups), Bible Seminars, and a Bible School that offers certificate programs in Preaching, Biblical Counseling, Bible Teaching and Discipleship. The Best Aftershaves Around

By John Gibb Seeking to find the best aftershave for your needs is possibly as hard as trying to pick up the correct car to buy; with a small difference of course: if you mess up, you just loose a 2-digit dollar amount, not a whole fortune! This certainly doesnt imply that you shouldnt be careful about what aftershave to pick. In order to help you we have compiled a list with some of the finest aftershaves on the market. A very common aftershave is the Nivea for Men After Shave Balm Fresh Cooling. This aftershave is enriched with Menthol and Vitamins. It gently refreshes, soothes and conditions the skin right after you have been shaved. It contains a non greasy balm witch can be absorbed very easily in your skin. As a result, your skin is left revitalized, supple and smooth. Finally, the balm helps protect your faces skin against inflammations or irritations. This aftershave is possibly one of the cheapest and simultaneously most effective ones. Another very popular aftershave is the Gillette after shave gel. Apart from all the common characteristics among aftershaves, this particular one boasts a really cheap price and a very refreshing and cool experience on your skin! Jumping on the category of aftershaves that have designer names on them we will find a pretty popular aftershave by Hugo BOSS. This is a 3.4 oz aftershave balm with a pretty attracting perfume. Although the price is composed of a 2 digit number, it is quite affordable considering its an aftershave with a fashion designers name on it. The next fashion house aftershave is Calvin Klein escape. Coming from one of the worlds leading fashion houses this particular aftershave has a very distinct perfume. Regarding the price, contrary to what you might have thought a first this is not a very expensive aftershave. Of course, its price is nowhere close to the Nivea or the Gillette above in the list but then again, thats why it boasts a very unique perfume. Along the same lines as escape come a few aftershaves by Giorgio Armani, Gucci and other major fashion houses . The perfumes of course are very distinct too and the prices are very close to each other. Need A Loan - Guess The Interest Rate

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michael_Challiner]Michael Challiner How do you find the best interest rates if youre planning to apply for a loan? Until relatively recently, it was simple. There were plenty of lists of comparative rates published in table form on various websites. You could take your pick and investigate the terms of the cheapest lenders. This approach is not so easy any more. Many banks are choosing to use a new system where the rate offered is dependent on your personal credit profile. At first glance, this appears to be a very fair system, but in fact would-be borrowers will have no idea of what interest rate theyll be offered and so will be unable to make comparisons. The Halifax, HSBC and Bank of Scotland have all switched to personal pricing and no longer advertise typical rates. In fact, most of the twenty leading lenders have adopted this method. The result of this is that customers applying for a loan will have very little idea of what rate theyll be offered, or whether theyll be accepted. This is a ridiculous situation as no should have to go blind into a credit application without a good idea of the interest rate. Its difficult to find out the rates by multiple loan applications, as each credit application is marked on your credit file. Lenders are understandably concerned where there have been excessive searches carried out and therefore the apparently simple process of achieving the best rate for your loan could affect your credit rating! Even applying to your present bank for a loan will still require a credit check, but you may be able to gain some idea of what the interest rate is likely to be and most banks would, presumably, like to keep your business. A representative of one of the leading banks has said the lending is on dangerous ground at present and that there are huge debt problems in the UK. Because of this, loan applications are increasingly likely to be rejected. Where banks are still advertising headline interest rates it appears that lenders are failing to follow through with offers to a high proportion of applicants. Those who are successful are often offered a higher rate than the one advertised. The Consumer Credit Act 2004 stipulates that lenders who advertise loans using a typical rate must lend money at that rate to at least 66% of successful applicants. Obviously by not showing a commitment to a rate, lenders can evade this rule. A recent survey showed that, of almost 3,000 people who applied for a loan, 40% were refused almost immediately and 25% were accepted without delay. However some days later the remaining applicants were still waiting for a reply and it is expected that a further 17% will fail to be granted the rate they applied for. There are a great many people applying for loans with the lowest headline rates and very many of them are going to be disappointed. Doubly so, as with every rejection they are putting the chance of obtaining a loan from another lender in jeopardy. A browse through the internet will find you an advisor who should be able to offer some guidance and help you to avoid any nasty surprises. How The Gastric Banding Weight Loss Surgery Works

By Guido Stiehle The gastric banding (Lap-Band) surgery is the most preferred weight loss surgery today. It offers many advantages over other surgeries such as less healing time, less pain after the surgery and the ability to resume normal activities more quickly after the surgery. The Lap-Band surgery is the newest, the least invasive and also the only weight loss surgery that is considered to be reversible. How is the gastric banding surgery performed? Before the surgery, a doctor will carefully look into your health history, check your weight and BMI as well as your willingness to change your life. After determining that you are a good candidate for the Lap-Band surgery, your doctor will carefully go over the surgery guidelines and expectations, because those patients who have the Lap-Band weight loss surgery have to make the commitment to change not only their eating habits, but also must be willing to undergo an exercise regimen. The doctor will also discuss with you other specialists you will eventually need to see including a dietitian, a therapist, a psychologist and other medical specialists. When it is time for your Lap-Band surgery, you will be admitted to the hospital the day before your surgery. This is so that the doctors and nurses can asses your health and make sure that no foods are eaten before the surgery is performed. The surgeries are performed under general anesthesia and most of them laparoscopically, which means that the incisions are smaller and the surgeon uses a small camera to guide the surgery. This is the preferred method for both doctors and patients because it causes less pain and the healing time is much faster than with an open procedure. In addition, there are less wound complications when the Lap-Band surgery is performed this way. During the gastric banding surgery, an adjustable elastomer ring made of silicone is placed around the upper part of your stomach. The ring is hollow and can later be filled with saline. This band creates a smaller upper pouch that serves as the new stomach. How do I lose weight with the Lap-Band? Because the upper pouch of your stomach is much smaller, you will not only be able to eat smaller quantities of food at a time but you will also feel satisfied with less food. Due to the reduced calorie intake over time, your body will start to burn fat and as a result you will lose weight. After the band is in place, it is connected to a tube and an access port placed beneath the skin during surgery. This is the area where the doctor can add or reduce the saline to the ring. If the band is too loose, the weight will not be lost as quickly. The doctor can then add more saline to adjust the ring accordingly. If weight loss is too fast or if other circumstances require that you eat more, then the doctor will take some of the saline out of the ring. The possibility to adjust the band is a feature unique to the Lap-Band. This feature combined with the other advantages of gastric banding over other surgeries makes gastric banding with the Lap-Band the most popular weight loss surgery today. How much weight can I expect to lose? Most patients who have the Lap-Band weight loss surgery can expect to lose around 36 percent of their excess weight, however it does take time. This weight loss is usually over a two to three year period. Losing weight with the help of a Lap-Band still envolves physical exercises and other adjustments in your lifestyle to make the surgery work to your advantage. Its critical that you change your eating habits. For at least five weeks after the surgery, there are strict dietary guidelines that must be followed. A good dietician can show you how to prepare healthier, well-balanced meals and how to eat in the right way.
